PRÉVOYANCE ENVERS LES AÎNÉS DES LAURENTIDES was established on May 14th, 1993. Following a period of Intense organisational activities, in 1994, our individual assistance for seniors program (PAIR) was implemented in the Laurentians ; and services were consolidated in 1995. Since that time, we have expanded our outreach, seeking to establish public awareness about the various forms of abuse seniors may experience, and to present our message through various media and public forums. Our Sentinels network project was launched in 2015 and at that time, we restructured to explore developing goals. At the same time, a grant from the CRÉ des Laurentides facilitated hiring a coordinator, recruiting 13 sentinels, and expanding our activities to the Pays-d’en-Haut.

MISSION

Our organization aims to help improve the quality of life of seniors through prevention, awareness, information, and safety activities for seniors at risk. All activities are nonprofit.

• Empowering seniors;
• Protecting seniors at risk or experiencing abuse (Sentinels);
• Assisting seniors through (PAIR);
• Listening to, being supportive and comforting, to seniors;
• Guiding seniors towards appropriate resources and services;
• Raising public awareness surrounding elder abuse and vulnerability;
• Collaborating with others on prevention programs;
• Fundraising.
