PAIR PROGRAM

Customized automated daily call service to seniors living at home alone. Seniors receive these calls daily at a predetermined time. Alerts are initiated by non-responses, and a check is then made to verify if client is in distress. This reassuring service helps seniors live independently safely and with a link with the outside world. Many lives have been saved by this service.

NETWORK OF SENTINELS

Sentinels are trained volunteers who listen, assist and provide guidance for seniors. Sentinels reassure and comfort seniors in stressful situations. In situations of greater need, police officers, social services staff or community organizations address their concerns.

ELDER ABUSE AWARENESS SESSION

Elder abuse conferences are presented in community settings using a DVD on fraud, ageism, harassment and bullying against seniors. The service is provided by the organization when seniors express interest in addressing concerns, resolving difficult situations, and developing skills in identifying elder abuse – presentations exploring the PAIR program are twinned with these conferences.
